“From a Street in Lomé”: A Poetic Dance on the Asphalt of Everyday Life

What does a street in Lomé dream of, when we take the time to listen? When walls, sidewalks, and gazes become words, and gestures become voices, art steps out of its traditional spaces to create a sensitive dialogue with the city.

This is the proposition of Lassina Koné Donkébaga, choreographer and artistic director of Don Sen Folo, with his new creation “From a Street in Lomé. The street we do not know.” Invited by Togo Créatif and the Institut Français du Togo, he spent four weeks in the heart of the Togolese capital, collaborating with choreographer and dancer Kossivi Sénagbé Afiadegnigban, actress Adjaratou Yerima, and dancer Eklou Kossivi.

Together, they wandered through the city, capturing its murmurs, questioning its silences, and transforming them into a living artwork that explores daily life, collective memory, forgotten spaces, and how a community perceives and reflects itself. A choreographic and theatrical writing that is grounded, intimate, and open.

On Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 3:00 PM, the public showing of this residency will take place on Moyen-Mono Street in Lomé—an ordinary street transformed into a stage, a space for emotion and encounter.
